In 2004, Manif d’art undertook supervision of an exchange project between Québec and the French region PACA (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azure). Initiated by Dominic Angel and Renaud Salvail, the Québec-PACA exchange involves pairing Québec independently-run organizations with similar French groups. Various projects and collaborations were developed with the goal of facilitating the creation or presentation of work by foreign artists through residencies, workshops, exhibitions, projections, publications, and conferences.
It is within this context that Manif d’art presented French artist Ben Vautier at Manif d’art 3. During the same event, in collaboration with the group Documents d’artistes, the organization also mounted a conference-meeting entitled Introduction to the Arts Scene of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azure and, in collaboration with Rencontre Place Publique, a colloquium entitled Art, Cynicism and Democracy.

Other organizations paired in the exchange project:
Vidéochroniques of Marseille and Vidéographe of Montréal
La Galerie du Cairn of Digne-les-bains and La Galerie Séquence of Chicoutimi
Documents d’artistes in Marseille and Artexte in Montréal
La Villa Arson in Nice and La Galerie de l’UQAM in Montréal
La Station in Nice and La Chambre blanche in Québec
L’école supérieure d’art d’Aix-en-Provence and Avatar in Québec
In addition to providing an exceptional window for artists from each of the regions concerned, these collaborations encourage exchanges between the organizations themselves and contribute to creating durable links between the regions of Québec and PACA.
