Nicole Gingras : Curator of the Year

Québec, December 20, 2011  Manifestation internationale d’art de Québec is proud to announce that Nicole Gingras, curator of the Manif d’art 6, was awarded Curator of the year at the Contemporary Art Galleries Association’s Visual Art Awards last Wednesday. She was also nominated for Best exhibitionBest art event & Best regional exhibition.

The first edition of the Visual Art Awards, hosted by actor Emmanuel Bilodeau, was at the Le Rialto Theatre. The event highlighted the great work of individuals from Quebec’s artistic scene in contemporary visual arts.

The Manif d’art 6, with the theme Machines — the Shapes of Movement, will be shown in Québec city from May 3 to June 3 of 2012. Québec city’s biennial is one of the main activities of Manifestation internationale d’art de Québec. The artistic journey that will be presented to the visitors brings a significant number of collaborators from the cultural sector as well as local and international artists. The arts scene and the general public are warmly invited.
