Marie-Andrée Gill
Céline Kushpu
March 7 to April 6
In this exhibition, Marie-Andrée Gill tells us two stories. In the first one, our famous Céline, who is Ilnu rather than non-native, decides to leave the city to go live in the forest. With René, she makes her home in the heart of Nutshimit. In the second story, love is impossible. Time will surely heal this broken heart, but in the meantime, the forest is what soothes the pain. Through these two works, Marie-Andrée Gill shares stories of life’s simple things, like the poetry of mac and cheese with hot dogs and tomato sandwiches. Images unfurl together with her words, but most of all, she brings us closer to the land.
