Performance by: Marie-Andrée Gill
In this exhibition, alongside the work Céline Kushpu, Marie-Andrée Gill tells us two stories. In the first, our famous Céline, Ilnu rather than non-Indigenous, decides to leave the city to live in the forest. With René, she builds her home in the heart of Nutshimit. In the second story, love is impossible. Time will eventually heal this wound of the heart, but in the meantime, it is the forest that soothes the pain. Through these two works, the artist shares the simplicity of everyday life—the poetry of mac and cheese with hot dogs and tomato sandwiches. She weaves images with her words, but above all, she brings us closer to the land.
