Wartin Pantois
Histoires abymées - Collectibles
In Histoires abymées – Collectibles, Wartin Pantois questions the social construction of reality by offering "memories" made from archival photographs, from which he often removes the characters and recomposes the narrative.
These odd collectible memories, born from a fabricated nostalgia, are discovered through repetition and accumulation, echoing the multiplicity of imaginations disseminated and amplified in our post-truth era.
This thought-provoking installation blurs the line between archive, fiction, and collective memory.
After being presented at the Monique-Corriveau Library (July 12 – September 8), the exhibition Histoires abîmées – Collectibles by Wartin Pantois is now on view at the Claire-Martin Library, from September 20 to October 30, 2025
