Theme: The Illusions Are Real
The theme of this tenth edition is inspired by magical realism, an artistic current that favors the spontaneous manifestation of elements that appear magical, supernatural, or irrational within reality.
Manif d’art 10 was an opportunity to explore artistic practices that employ trompe-l'oeil, subversion, and sleight of hand. Through these practices, the biennial questioned various issues in our daily lives, from artificial flavors to misinformation campaigns, in a world saturated with illusions.
